The Distance
This is the final cut for those storyboards I had posted earlier. Things changed up a bit, but that's kinda expected. This was a group project, so between us we changed up roles in lighting, editing, dp'ing, directing, etc. Lots of fun to shoot and great learning experience.

Film!!!
So, I usually try just posting my own "animation-y" type artwork here. Mostly because I kinda use this as a "portfolio" site and what not. However, I think film relates a lot to what I want to do (visual storytelling), so...why not?
I'm taking a film class this semester and been shooting and cutting here and there, and these are what's been done so far:
Just a intro project to get shooting. Solo project at Berkeley.
Intro to using the HMC150. Shot with a group, edited solo.
More exploration with the HMC150, dealing with apertures, white balance, etc. Shot, performed, and edited with fellow classmate Sophie Worm.
Same as above, but had to use sound "interestingly"
Only had one light source in a dark room. Shot with group (I DP'd) and edited with another classmate after the rough cut to this final cut.

Eggs
For Set Design, had to "modify a space". Instructions are vague so we can do what we want, so I decided to make a short from some storyboards. The idea came from acting class where we had to act out two minutes of our life on a specific day.
The boards are very rough but they were mostly used to help direct my cameraman (Ratha Chea) so he had an idea of what I kind of wanted. It's really interesting to board for live action because you can't always get what you want due to circumstances you can't control that mostly involve...time (tic-tic-tic as Mandrews would say). You sometimes end up consolidating shots on the fly.
